Forms of Circulation is a contemporary artist and filmmaking collaboration led by Sarah Perks and Paul Stewart. Working through film, installation and performance, they follow how images, objects and stories travel between people, places and environments, and what gets altered along the way. Football fans and seals, school children and wildflowers, karaoke and tarot, their collaborative methods are as varied as the communities they work with. Their films have been selected for BFI London Film Festival, Busan New Wave Film Festival, Aesthetica Short Film Festival, Braziers International Film Festival and Slow Film Festival; invited residencies include 0-eA, Yokosuka/Tokyo (Japan), MIT (Cambridge, USA) and Suzhou (China). Their work is in the collections of MIMA (Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art) and Cartwright Hall Art Gallery (Bradford), and they were selected artists for Brent Biennial 2025 (curated by Annie Jael Kwan). They work collaboratively, most frequently with 16mm cinematographer Christo Wallers.
